Home sweet home
The dictionary definition of home is “The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household”. But for me, the meaning of home is completely different.
My home has special things, like my favourite books. It also has special people. My grandma, who gives the best hugs, or my dad who tells silly stories. My home is a place where I'm encased in an amazing feeling. That the people in my home will protect me, fight for me, and care for me. I know that my home is a place where I can fall down and make mistakes and people won't care. Actually, it’s the opposite. My family cares for me so much, that they will always help me with whatever I need.
My home isn't just things and people. To me, it's also a feeling. I am a dancer. When I get on a stage, with all this choreography in my head, but being able to relax, that feeling, is also my home. Another feeling that makes me feel at home is when I’m reading my favourite books. Being transported into different worlds, imagining different characters and pictures, that is one of my favourite things.
They say home is where the heart is, but I think it should be home is where the heart is happy, because when I’m at home, I cry with people, feel relief with people, play with people, and imagine with people. My home is where I’m happy and sad. My home is so much more then “The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household”.
