The Meaning of Home
Your home doesn’t have to be where you live, it just has to be the place where you have
the people you love and your memories. It can be where you do your sport, your school,
or where you live.
If you live in a building with walls, a roof, doors and windows but no memories, that’s a
house. A true home is where you have memories like birthday parties, old dance
costumes and jerseys, like when you come back after a trip and you recognize the scent
and it smells like your parents cooking, and where you have baby pictures on the walls
and fridge.
A home can also be a dance studio with all your dance friends like me. I’m at my studio
like every day of the week. It could be a hockey rink. It could be a soccer field. It could
be a basketball court and a lot more. A home just has to be where you feel you belong.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for making homes possible. I think that everyone
should have a home and that’s exactly what you helping people get. Thank you for
letting us help with your great project and I’m glad I get to help by submitting this.
