Home: Defined

Home isn’t just a structure. It’s where you sleep on a comfortable bed Where you eat your mother’s delicious homemade shawarma Where you drink clean, fresh water after an exhausting soccer game. Home isn’t just the place where you reside. It’s the place where you can be yourself Where you can do your own thing Where you can accidentally break the windows by kicking a soccer ball And then blame it on your little sister. Many people take their homes for granted They think it’s just boring walls & windows But it’s so much more than that. People should be grateful for what they already have instead of always asking for more. People should recognize that not everyone is as fortunate. Some people do not have homes to live in, delicious food on their plates, or clean water flowing from their taps, things many of us take for granted every day. I am grateful for my home and for everything I have. I have realized the misfortune of others and how privileged I truly am. Without my home, my family’s lives and my own would be much harder. Everybody deserves a place to call their own, but that isn’t always the case. And I want to help change that. If I could make just one wish to help make the world a better place… It would be to help others find the home That they so rightfully deserve.
