The Home I Have
Home is where I can relax after a long day. A home does not have to be a house or an apartment, it can be a shelter, a trailer, a condo or almost anywhere you feel comfortable, safe, and happy. A home does not have to be a place, it can be somewhere you have family, or community.
Not everybody has a house but I hope everyone has a home. The people who do have a home are lucky because not everybody does. We should be thankful for what we have: the water, the food, our community and the family we have. I know not everyone has all of that and may feel lonely sometimes but it does not have to be that way.
Everybody should have a place to feel happy and loved, everybody should feel like they belong and everybody should have the chance to eat good food and drink clean water.
When I go home after a day of school I can lie down on my bed. My house is a place where I feel safe. In the summer I hear the trees sway gently in the breeze. In the winter I can go outside in my front yard and play in the snow with my younger brother and sister. I have five people in my family and I would not feel complete without them.
Sometimes I wake up to the smell of cinnamon rolls or the smell of homemade cookies. Sometimes when I need to be alone I go to my room. My house is a place where I feel comfortable. I love my home.
