Home is in your heart

What is a home? When most people imagine a home, they imagine the outside of a home, four walls, windows, a roof, and a door. But what matters so much more is what's inside the home and what it means to you. Home is somewhere that you're surrounded by people you love and care about, and where you’ve shared memories with one another that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Home cannot be defined on its location, how it looks, or how big it is, it's how you feel in your home. For me, home is a place where ever if I’ve had an awful day, or I’m just in a bad mood, as soon as I step through the door, I feel safe, and comfortable because I know that no matter how upset I am feeling, at the end of the day, I will always have my home to come back to. Whenever I’m feeling alone, like I don’t belong, my home always reminds me that there are some places where you will always belong. Home is like a barrier that protects you from all of your problems and fears in the world. Some of my favourite memories in my home were during the Covid 19 pandemic. Our home protected us from all the germs, so we could stay healthy, and I am so thankful that it did that for us. Even though we stayed in our house for months, and I didn’t go to school, I never got sick of it. Everyday we used to sit at the kitchen table, and we would have tea time, and talk about each other's days. Even though it wasn’t anything super big, or exciting, it brought us closer together. It's the small little memories that make a home so special. No matter how many times I move homes, my home will always be with me because home isn’t a building, it’s a place in your heart.
