What Home means to Me
To me home is a feeling when you play games or when you watch movies or have takeout night. It's just when you feel loved and valued. I feel very lucky to have a home because when I am home I feel like I am on top of the world. I know some people don’t have a home and it makes me sad to see that. Home isn't just walls around you it's about who you are with like your family or your friends. Or at a shelter, a home can be anywhere some people don't have a home and people take home for granted some times and you don't think about all the people who don't have all that, at one time I felt that way.
You see, a few years ago my dad had cancer and it just didn't feel like home without him. Just felt like walls and I was very sad, but I realized that home can be anywhere. Soon my dad came home and it felt like home again. Home is a feeling when you are safe, supported, loved but some people don't have walls and a roof but they have home. Home can be anywhere even when you think it is terrible. Home is a feeling and anywhere can be home even if you live in a homeless shelter home can be anywhere. You just have to have the feeling. And that is what home is to me.
