What Home Means to Me
Home doesn’t just mean my house where I live; it means something much deeper to me.
The first meaning of home is family. Home reminds me that I have a family to thrive with, have endless days of fun with, talk to, and express my feelings to. My family helps remind me that I am important and that someone will always be there to support me, no matter what happens in my life.
Next, home reminds me of comfort. Home feels comforting because it is a place that helps me relax. It also makes me feel safe and welcome. I would rather stay home in an empty space like my room than be out in a public place full of strangers that makes me feel unsafe. Personally, I like staying at my house because it’s a place where I can move freely instead of being cramped by random strangers in tight spaces like elevators.
Lastly, home reminds me of all the fun times and memories I have had. My home is where most of my memories come from, like Christmas, half of Halloween, Easter, and especially my birthday. My home is where I grew up my entire life and will always be my comfort zone whenever I come back from school, shopping, or a very long trip.
My favorite memory at home has to be my fifth Christmas. When I woke up, I was the most excited and hyper kid anyone had ever seen. When I unwrapped my first gift, I felt like I was going to squeal because I got something I still have to this day: a shiny, glittery, spectacular unicorn plushie. It has white glittery skin, a rainbow unicorn horn as shiny as the sun dancing on snow, hooves as pink as dark pink daisies, and glimmering eyes as shiny as a freshly washed and polished car.
Home is the most important place to me. It makes me feel more comfortable than I ever could anywhere else in such a big world. Home to me is security.
