Next stop... home
Home, shelter, house. Call it what you would like. Home isn’t just a property; it’s a place where we cherish memories with our loved ones. Whether they’re good or bad, it’s always a lesson that will keep a place in our hearts. It’s never about what place you’re living in, it’s about the people who live there and make you feel known, loved, and special. Family is something that money cannot buy, and I’m lucky to have one. Many kids like us right now aren’t getting the chance to have what we do, like food, water, clothing, and most importantly, a roof over their heads. That’s what the Habitat for Humanity is trying to do; build homes, and give a proper life for those who didn’t get one.
Home is kind of like a safe place for me. When I’m down, sad, or upset, I don’t have to worry about anything or anyone that would make me feel incomplete. All because I’m in my house with my family who I know will do anything to bring back my smile and encourage me again to show kindness, respect, and happiness towards others.
Home’s like a storage for memories, whether it’s photo albums, digital photos, or just fun memories. When we move to a new place, it’s like the storage was emptied. That is why we have all the photo albums and photo frames. We can move those pictures to our new place, and most memories would be brung back and kept safe. And no one said you couldn’t make new memories at your new place. In fact, you can even recreate some of your old memories at your new house.
That's how I look at home. The next time someone asks you what home means, you can answer them.
