The Meaning of a House and a Home

There stood a house, a sacred place, Where laughter wore a timeless face. The walls would hum our childhood songs, Where every soul knew it belonged. Eleven friends, a bond so tight, We chased the stars through every night. The creaky floor, the old oak tree, Held all our endless reverie. The sunlit porch, the ivy’s climb, A witness to our golden time. We carved our names, both deep and true, A promise made, "I'll stand by you." Through summers bright and winters cold, That house became a heart to hold. Its whispers filled the evening air, With dreams and secrets we laid bare. But time, the keeper, turned the key, And carried us away from thee. The house remains, its soul intact, While we move on, yet still look back. Each crack and dent, each mark, and stain, Still sings of joy, still hums of pain. For home is more than brick and stone It’s love that makes you never alone. Though life may pull us far apart, That house still lives within my heart. Eleven friends, one sacred bond, A place where all our dreams were spawned. So here’s to us, to all we’ve shared, The love that showed we truly cared. No matter where the future roams, That house will always be our home.
