Meaning of Home

(Home is more than just a place, it’s a feeling.) -Reece John Adrien Burns Home feels like snuggling with my dog, Finnegan. It’s warm and cozy, with my safe bed and the comfort of knowing I always have a place to sleep at night and growing up in sault Ste Marie has always been my home, me and my family have a thing where we watch a movie every weekend. I’m truly thankful to have a safe home to live in and enjoy, with the people that I love the most. Home feels like the weekends, when my cousin, aunt, and I head to Goulais for camping trips with our friends. We go four-wheeling and snow machining; I love the excitement and adventure, having so much fun. Home smells like my mom’s delicious cooking and the fresh, unpolluted air. It sounds like music playing, with birds chirping early in the morning. Home tastes like scrumptious meals together as a family and enjoying my Nana’s baking. My home is the place that I’ve always known and no matter where I am—even if stranded in the middle of the woods—if I am with my family, it will always feel like home. After all, love is what turns a house into a home.
