Home to Me

When I sit down on my small couch, I feel a soft rug: it's a rug for a couch. When my dad is home, he brings snacks for me, my sister, and my brother. Sometimes, I smell my mom cooking. It smells like dough and celery and tomatoes. Also, I smell a nice fresh start every time I lie down there, a cool lavender fresh smell. I see big buildings, birds, my living room, dining table, the stairs to the second floor of my house, my mom’s working space, my piano, and my balcony. When I sit on my small couch, I feel warm pillows on my head or my back. Also, the couch is very soft. I hear birds chirping and my sister and brother talking and my mom’s computer clicking and my mom making work calls, too. When I feel hungry, I grab myself a snack. Some snacks I bring to the couch are cookies, milk, jelly in a long plastic tube, Airheads (it’s a type of candy), and Goldfish. Sometimes, I smell my mom’s perfume because her working space is right behind the couch. It feels like home to me because I can do everything there like putting on relaxing music and going to sleep. I can eat there because there is a table right next to the couch and I can watch my phone there, too.
