What home Means to me
People say home is family, friends, laughter, relaxing, but none come close to spiritual connection.
Every day, when I come home from school, the first thing I see is my home. My home is my best friend. Even though I cannot talk with my home, It understands me more than anything.
Anytime I run into my room and start to let out emotion, I think no one is watching. My home is watching. My home will always be watching secretly listening to my words and emotion through my voice.
My home knows more about me than I do. Sometimes when I’m sad I just lay down on my bed, turn off the lights and just let go of my mind and explore it. When I am doing that, I think of the most random things that I have never thought about. It’s like my home is trying to communicate with me.
Cecelia Ahern once said, “Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling.” A feeling that is always there but you can’t distinguish it because you barely notice it until you visit another home. When you visit another home, the house smell is just not the same. Their taste in decor is all different and you don’t think that home cares for you or represents you. Then when you get home you can’t smell your home because, it feels normal, like it knows the smell you love.
Even though a home is just walls and wires mashed up together to make a cozy living area, the home speaks to you always, like it’s alive, but you don’t notice it. Maybe the creaks of the woods or old doors are the home saying, “hi,” to you but most people think it's annoying or creepy.
That is what home means to me, thank you for your time.
