What Home Means to Me
For a lot of people when they get asked what a home means they exclaim "A home is a big and tall structure made out of brick or wood with windows”. They are describing a house not a home, a home is far more than that. I think home means an accessible, relaxing environment where you can be yourself, and have a lot of fun while being close to all the people you love.
A home can mean different things to different people. Some people say home is about making memories, others say home is the taste of their grandmother's famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Some of my favourite memories that made me feel at home were when me and my family would
go camping together and roast marshmallows by the fire. But when I'm at home the one place that makes me feel at home is my bedroom. It's the only place where I can relax in a comfortable area surrounded by my soccer posters and different collections.
My home is special to me because it has been passed down from one family to another for over one hundred years. That makes it special because not many people live in a one-hundred year old house. When my parents bought the house they got it from my grandparents and since then I have truly felt at home.
