Home! What It Means To Me
HOME! What it means to me

Why am I writing this?
I am writing this because I want the money donated from my submission to go to Habitat for Humanity. When I think about people without homes, I want to prevent that from happening to ANYONE else. A home is a human right. Nobody should have to live without a roof over their head, and a place to keep thier belongings. A home gives people not just shelter, but dignity. That's why the work that Habitat for Humanity does is so important and why I am entering this contest.
I LOVE my home, but why?
I wasn’t born here, I was born in Nigeria. I moved to Canada when I was 3 and my first house was a basement in Milton. A few years later we moved to an apartment. Another few years passed and here I am in a bigger house in the huge town of Guelph. Those places had something in common. They were all home. They were home because they kept me safe and warm. In all my homes, I could be myself. My family was always there to keep me company. My friends could visit, and the neighbours were nice. Home was always there for me to go back to.
Conclusion.
I love my home because of the smell of my mom’s cooking, my kind neighbors and friends I can rely on. I love that sometimes. I get to watch the sunset as my dad starts up the grill. I love my brother playing with all his toys.
I love my home, and I want everyone to have a home too.
