What Home Means to Me
In a house peoples bathroom mirrors are rusty and old, but my bathroom mirror is like a diamond shining like gold. When people enter their kitchen, they eat then they leave. When I step into my kitchen the smell of my mom’s cooking tells me to stay. My family and I make our prayers before eating trying to remember to appreciate the food in front of us because some don’t have any food. When I open the curtain to my living room, I find my family waiting to have a movie night and popcorn. In a house a bedroom has a bed and a closet, in my bedroom my bed is a place where I lay to share all my big future dreams with my eyes closed relaxing and sleeping. A basement is meant for storage and maybe washing clothes. In my basement it is where me and all my siblings have fun, eat snacks and share memories. In a home is where you build your future and might have built your past. It is also a place where you express yourself without hiding your true self. You can’t call a house a home because if a house is truly a home you have built memories, love and adventure. That is what my home means to me.
