What Family Means To Me

What Family Means to me When I think of family, I remember my step sister flicking cake mix at me when we were baking together and I think of the mess it makes, getting in my hair and on my face, it’s a struggle to get off but it’s still so fun! When I go to my mom's house, I help my step dad cut up firewood and kindling on the chopping block. It gets cold, but I love doing it since it’s extra time with someone I have fun to be around. The days I get off the bus me and my brother bundle up and go four wheeling on the trails behind our house. I like it in the winter because there's snow and it’s fun when you slide. He's a great driver, I know I can trust him. In the summer when my family makes fires together at night to keep warm, I love to roast marshmallows over the blaze of the fire, or to help put wood into the fire to keep it going. It’s more dear to my heart when we have family and friends over, especially when my grandmother and grandfather come over too. When my puppy gets too hyper I like going in the snowy field behind my house and throwing a toy for him, sometimes the snow is so deep that the toy gets lost in the snow and I have to go either get a new one or find it for him, but that's quite alright, because his puppy stage isn’t forever and I wanna see him grow up every day that I can. In the end, home means everything to me, it’s where I go to decompress, it’s where I have the freedom to write and draw, and most importantly, where I know it’s safe.
