A Place Called Home

The word Home holds many meanings to me. The word ‘Home’ is not just 4 letters, or bricks glued together; it can also mean memories, and love. Home is a place where you can build memories with family and friends, even if it is just physically or virtually connecting online. A Home is not always what everybody else thinks it is; it can be what you make it to be. A Home can be a place where there is a calm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere; where there are people who welcome you with open arms to make you feel safe. Or occasionally it can be a place where chaos lies, argumentation and tension floating in the air. A Home should be somewhere that holds great moments, holding things like your finest feelings and most of all somewhere you love. It should be somewhere that is your comfort zone and somewhere that you can find to be yourself at all times. A Home is not the same thing as a house. A house is something that is made out of bricks and concrete and wood while a home is somewhere that you can be remembered and appreciated. Even when you feel like you don't belong anywhere, a true Home is always a place that will welcome you. A Home is somewhere that you can be heard and seen, where your opinions matter and where people would take the time out of their day to spend valuable and cherished moments with you. A Home is somewhere that revives you, that shelters you and is somewhere that you can regenerate. Like coming home from a long day at school or work, a Home is somewhere where you can rest and relax freely without disturbance and irritations. This is someplace where you can truly call a ‘Home’.
