Everyone Should have a Home, not a House
To me, a home is a place where I feel safe and can truly be myself. I don’t have to worry about being cool or pretending to be someone I’m not, especially because of my friends. A home is more than just a house; it’s where I lay my head on my bed and where my family gathers on the couch to watch movies and snuggle together. It’s a place to stay warm in the winter while drinking hot cocoa on the deck.
When there’s thunder and lightning, we come running out of our rooms, excited for family lightning night on the deck, bouncing in the rain at 9:00 PM. We turn on the fireplace to keep our home warm.
However, my parents have friends who have moved six times in four years. I can only imagine how stressful it must be to move every six months. Nowadays, finding a good home is difficult due to expenses. Sometimes, the places available smell like smoke, are dirty, or have strange sounds like creaking. That’s why I want to help. I want more people to have what I have.
Sincerely,
Addison
