I Want to Make a Difference

Home means to me a place where I can be me. Whether I am sad or I'm happy, I have my family right there with me in a place where I feel safe and comfortable, but some people don't have that. Some people don't have a safe place they can call home. Their house may feel uncomfortable with a bad smell or weird noises that could prevent them from having a good night's sleep. When they wake up, they will go to school exhausted, preventing them from being able to study properly. When people don’t have housing security and have to move often it would be hard to make friends for the kids. In school, I'm learning about poverty, and I had to go online to try to find a way to live on $2000. I struggled to make that work. I'm just thinking about how difficult of a time someone with a family with a similar budget would have to try to not only afford a home but also be able to afford things like the internet, after-school activities, and even buying food. I want to make a difference and make the world a better place by being a part of the solution to our housing crisis.
