My Meaning of Home
Home is a place,
Where you feel safe.
Not just physically,
A standing stability.
Four sides and some walls,
Doesn't matter at all.
It’s the feeling inside,
Where hope can abide.
Laughter and care,
Drifts through the air.
The hallways hold memories,
Throughout all the centuries.
The kitchen, a place where
There’s the aromas and tastes,
Of a journey through the ups and downs,
Colliding, joy and peace is found.
The living room’s a place where you dwell,
The familiar and cozy feelings, where joy swells.
I hear the symphonic sound,
Of my family, laughing, when I look around .
Sometimes we cry,
Over loved ones who’ve died.
But when you are home,
You don’t feel alone.
Coming together, all around,
One table, where loved ones surround.
Laughter and fun, jumbled here,
In this place, family is near.
Thoughts, dreams, here start to grow,
Wondrous, delicate, all becoming known.
My home is where I feel God the most,
Surrounding me, loving me, bringing me hope.
Homes can be messy, not just the stuff,
Relationships between all of us.
Feeling cherished, protected, and cared for,
Are what we hope to feel, when we walk through the front door.
Homes are places, filled with love,
Joy, fun, a comforting hug.
To have a place where they can go.
Everyone deserves a home.
