My Home, My Heart
Home is the most important place in the world, and it's different for everyone. Maybe for you, home isn't just one place, or maybe it isn't a place at all, but people. My house is in Campbell River, but my home is with my family, even if we move to France or New Mexico or the other side of the Earth. Home is a place where you feel safe, where the weight of your worries is lighter on your shoulders, because you're with the people who love you no matter what. Because home isn't something that's embedded within the walls of a house, it's something that you carry in your heart, wherever you and your loved ones go. My home is in playing board games with my family, it's in the way my dog, Ivy, will lick all the band-aids and bruises on my dad's hands for ages, trying to make them feel better. It's in the way that a long, warm hug from a family member or a little bit of love from a pet can make everything feel better. Really, it's in every moment we share, everything we do together, with love. This is the magic of home. Because home is in the spirit of a household, not the structure. And even though "home" is different for everyone, it's the same feeling of safety and love and family that makes a building feel like a home.
