Home is More than a Word
Home is much more than just a word. A home is not a building, it is so much greater than that. It is an indescribable word, but I will try to show you what home means to me. I will explain why family is so important in our lives and how these tie into the meaning of home.
Firstly, I believe that the most important part of home is family. Family is what creates a home. Without a loving family, there is no home, you would just be living in a building with four walls and a roof. Families are supportive, loving, and kind, and they will always be there for you when you need it most. That is why family is the most important part of the meaning of home.
Secondly, safety is obviously important and required for many reasons. It is especially needed here in Winnipeg because of the freezing cold weather in the winter. Having nowhere to stay in these temperatures would be terrible, and four months of the year are like this. I would be miserable without a safe place to stay, and I wish that others could live in a safe and comfortable home.
I am so lucky to have a warm and protected home to live in and I wish everyone in the world could have the same luxuries. Most people take owning a home for granted and don’t realize how different their lives would be without one. I hope that others can understand how lucky they are as well.
In conclusion, home is something that words can not describe. In my opinion, family and safety are the main reasons that a home is much more than a building. I hope that with help from Habitat for Humanity, everyone can proudly own a safe and loving place to live to create memories of their own.
