Home

I think about being happy. I think about being calm. I am home. Home can mean different things to different people. To me if feels this way. I will tell you why. Home to me is a place for celebrations. When I think “home” it is often quiet, but there are times where it is filled with laughter and people’s celebrations. Like when I hear the bell ringing and feet stomping up the stairs. It is Halloween. It makes me feel at home as I get to see my neighbours in their costumes and say hello. Another celebration that makes me feel like home is Christmas. I picture decorating my house with lights, trees and stockings. I smell the onions sizzling and snap the gingerbread in my hands. I see the cozy pillow and stuffies. I feel the fuzzy blanket on top of my bed. I am in my room. The things in my room and the way it is designed makes it feel like home. On top of my dresser is my trophy from soccer, souvenirs from trips and pictures of friends and family. All these things hold memories for me and my room stores them. It is a calm place because I was involved in the design of my room. It is my favourite colour, and the sheets are nice and soft. To me there is always entertainment in a home. Like reading and playing games with family. Also, when you are sick you have everything you need like medicine. You also have the people who care for you like parents and grandparents. You can wear what you want and be comfortable. Home is a happy and calm place, and I think everyone deserves to have a place where they can make memories and feel this way.
