A Home is Not Just a House
My home is super special to me. Saturday morning, I go to the table to eat, my parents bring me Nutella and pancakes as a pleasant treat. My kitchen is special to me because of all my baking memories.
As we are playing Uno, Scrabble, and chess at family game night, it brings out banter, laughter, and silly fights. In our living room on movie night, we munch on sweets, snacks, and drinks as we watch with delight. My living room is special to me because of all the playful memories.
My Dad, brother, and I are watching the Four Nations Face-Off on channel 10, then my dad yells, “Quick, pass to McDavid, he’s wide open!” We are sitting on the couch playing the Nintendo Switch, until my friend lost the race from her laughing, then called me a witch. My TV is special to my family and me because it brought us together watching sports and hockey.
When I am really sad, I run to my room to go to sleep, then my dog comes running for cuddles and comfort as I weep. When I get home from school, I walk in the door, my dog is jumping with joy as it takes me down to the floor. My dog is special to me because he is the sweetest, most hyper and the best puppy.
A home is way more than just a house, it is a place where you laugh with your spouse. A home is way more than just a house, it the screams and cries when your grandma yells “There’s a mouse!” A home is way more than just a house, it’s the memories you cherish when you move out. My home is super special to me because it’s filled with déjà vu and memories.
