My Home

When I get home, the garage door opens like it’s welcoming me back. The familiar creak brings a wave of warmth and comfort, reminding me that I’m safe with my family. As I enter, the delicious scent of a homemade dinner fills the air, making my stomach rumble with anticipation. I can choose to relax on the comfortable couch or do my homework at the island table, which is also my favourite spot for building with Legos. My little sister’s laughter can be heard from the living room, and my dad is busy making work calls, creating a lively atmosphere that I cherish. In the morning, the enticing aroma of breakfast draws me to the kitchen, where my mom prepares a delicious spread. After breakfast, I take on the special task of feeding our pet fish, Bob, who jumps up with excitement at mealtime. Bob is a full moon betta fish, and his tank is filled with fun decorations like a Santa Claus and a SpongeBob-themed home. Watching him swim brings me joy and a sense of calm before I head out for school. Once I’m in the garage, I eagerly hop into my car, excited about the day ahead but already looking forward to returning home. When I get back from school I hop back home. After finishing my homework, I might join my sister to watch our favourite shows or share stories at dinner with my dad. The warmth of laughter and conversation fills our home, creating memories that I’ll treasure. As night falls, I retreat to my room, turning on my lamp to read for a bit before sleep takes over. I often reflect on how fortunate I am to have a place filled with love and comfort that truly feels like home.
