Home Can be Anything

For people, home can be many different things. It can be a smell, something that is familiar to you, something that reminds you of your special place, and many other things. Even if you are hundreds of kilometers away from the place you call home, you can still make a new place feel like home. You can put something that reminds you of home. It can be anything. It can be from the most special thing to you or the most common thing on earth, like the colour of paint on a wall. Home is different for everybody. Other people may not recognize things that remind you of home. For some people it could be weird, but for you that thing could mean a lot. For some it could be a place that you can feel safe, your couch, your bed, a memory, a whole country, your grandparents house, a gift, a toy, an aroma, and a lot of many memorable things. Everyone deserves a home. There’s people that have never had a home, and there’s people who have had more than 10 homes! There’s people who have never had their own sanctuary. There’s people that lost their homes for a lot of different reasons such as in California, where fire has been spreading all around burning all their things they loved. In Montreal, there are a lot of homeless people. We are lucky to have a home, but the homeless don’t have one. I wish that in the future all the homeless in Montreal will have a house. Habitat for Humanity is helping make that wish come true.
