Homes Around The World

There are many different types of homes all around the world. In Africa, Asia and North America, but have you ever thought that animals have homes too? You know salmon go back to the same river where they were born? They do this so that their offspring call that river their home too. That river is familiar. That must be their home. Bears stay in the forest where they were born too. Most of the time they have a warm cave with leaves to lie on and a place for their cubs to be safe. That cave is safe. That must be their home. Bees live in big families with up to 1000 of them in their home. Of course they live in bee hives, in trees, or in a bee orchard where they can make honey. That bee hive must never feel lonely. That must be their home. Elephants have a really big home. They roam across the savanna in the hot sun. Pools of water and trees all of it feels like home to them. The savanna must make them truly feel themselves. That must be their home. Humans have homes too that are all around the world. For some it’s a place that makes them feel a strong emotion or feeling. Sometimes a home is a place where you feel safe or relaxed. Maybe home for you is a scent or feeling, seeing a certain object or person. As long as whatever home is to you is: familiar, safe, never lonely, and you truly feel like yourself, you’ll know it’s home. Not everyone in Canada has a home and they should. If we work hard we, as a nation, can help everyone find one, because everyone deserves a home, humans and animals.
