Parts of Home

One of the things that makes a home is that you have a memory of something that took place there. For me, something in my house that I have a memory of is the view when I looked outside when I was living in Ottawa. I would see the houses of all my friends and that made me feel happy. Something that makes a place home can be having someone who is a family member, possibly a pet, close by. If you're stressed and you come home, a family member or a pet can comfort you. Something that makes it home could be something like an object, a picture, a couch, or a room like your bedroom. For me it’s the living room where I feel safe and cozy. Plus I can relax on the couch. If I’m in the kitchen and suddenly the lights turn off I may be scared, so I run to my room and hop on my bed where I feel a lot safer.
