Home is more than just brick and tile

Home is more than just brick and tile it's where we laugh and where we smile. As the years go on, I know home is more than a roof and a place where I rest my head, it's a place where I can decompress and self express. It's a safe place to go to bed when sugar plums dance in my head especially on Christmas night when all the boys and girls are sleeping on what a special night. Oh, the summer it is so fun, we laugh and play in the water all day until we say goodbye to the sun. The basement is like a clubhouse where we play games all day like sorry, chest, or even barbies, with my sister all the time. I will never forget because home is where we make memories every day all day. The kitchen can get messy after a night of fun but oh boy oh boy it is sure worth it time after time again. Chores we get done and out of our way before baking or playing for the day. The bathtub can get exciting when bubbles rise upon the water, oh what a perfect time to take one of those pictures. Even though 1.6 billion people are lacked adequate homing as of 2021 and 2022, I am not. This is why I wrote this poem to help Habitat for Humanity build homes for people in need.
