Home Means to Me...

What is a home? Home is the place that makes you feel safe, comfortable, and welcome. It is less about the place and more about the feeling. It is the feeling of security. Home can be at school, or reading a good book by the fireplace. It can be lying on the beach watching the waves wash up on shore. It can also be bonding with your soccer teammates. But even when your teammates are not there, you can still feel connected to home. You can feel connected with your friends, with your family, and with every single person that you know. Even when you are the only person around, that does not make you alone. When I think about home, I think about my family. No matter where I go, no matter what I am doing, if family is there, I am truly at home. The one word I feel can be used to accurately describe home is family. You see, friends can change, houses can change, and frankly, so can your location, but no matter what, family is always there by your side. Sometimes you do not know where your home is. But don’t worry, it will eventually find you, making you feel safe, comfortable, and welcome.
