What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me By: Nathan Introduction In this essay I will talk about memories that I made with my family and the items in my home that introduced me to a completely different world. This is what home means to me and why I think everyone deserves a home. The five senses touch, hear, taste, look, smell In this paragraph I am going to use the five senses to write down the happy memories at home. When my dad drives me back home I slowly see my family members come back from school first my brother then my sister and last but not least my mother. Then our house starts getting noisy. I could hear my brother and sister running down the stairs from my room. And I could smell the delicious garlic smell coming from the kitchen. Mmm, my mom’s baking sure is delicious. Then I hear my siblings and my dad thumping up my stairs and we gather around the table and talk about what we liked about our day then suddenly the dining table felt like the best place in the world. I took a bite out of a piece of garlic bread Mmm, the crunchy crust and the yummy garlic. After dinner Sometimes we make pizza together. Once my hand laid on the dough I felt the soft and squishy touch of the dough. Then we added the toppings there were mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil leaf. Then my mom puts the pizza in the oven to bake then the next day we eat our homemade pizza. Connections with items in my house Every house has a dining table and a kitchen but my kitchen is not an ordinary kitchen, it's a place where happy memories are made. My dining table is the place where it introduced me to delicious and new food. Some examples are garlic bread, vegetable soup, and homemade dumplings, saying this makes me hungry!!! My house has a basement but my basement is a place where I share joy with my brother and sister. It is also a place where we watch horror movies!!!!!!!! Our house has a hockey bag but it’s not an ordinary hockey bag. It's the item that introduced me to a new world of hockey. I started hockey when I was 6. When I was 6 I started to play, learn to play for one year then I played house league for the York Mills and I made it into the select team in the same year. Lastly I played single A for the Markham Islanders. So I’ve been playing hockey for 3 years. Every house is a four side building but my house is structured with love and joy. My dad cares about all of us. Our mom feeds our whole family and that is why I call my house home. This is what makes my home a home but sadly not all families in Canada have a safe place to live. But luckily there’s this charity that’s called habitat for humanity. They make homes for poor families and I believe that they will do a good job! P.S. Thank you habitat for humanity for making a great effort for making homes.
