Meira's Meaning Of Home

Home is not just a place for me. It is a place for my neighbours, friends, pets, and family. Home is my neighbourhood, my town, my city. Home is the planet we live on. The world. The earth. A blue and green marble floating in space, illuminating the pitch-black darkness around it. It just keeps getting brighter bit by bit. Home is a feeling you get when you’re with the people you love. Spending time in a orange HALO tent with countless arbutus trees above. Laughter from my two sisters echoing off the tent walls. During the night, we trudge through the emerald forest listening to the calming owl calls. I feel at home when I’m training in circus. I climb higher and higher until I can’t go up anymore. Until I’m tomato red, and my limbs are feeling sore. But then, I wrap the soft vibrant coloured silk around me like a nice cozy blanket. That’s when I feel at home. That is why I think everyone deserves to feel the joy, and happiness of having a roof over their head. A place to go back to. A home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for making safe homes for everyone!
