The Colours of Home

My home is painted with colours, emotions, and memories. It’s a place to have fun, be silly and creative, a place to make memories and share ideas. Here are the colours of my home: When I walk into my room, I see the colour pink. Fluorescent pink. My room is full of excitement and fun. Sometimes I think the pink is softer and more fragile because my bedroom is also a place to relax and reset. When I see my living room, I see chartreuse green. Fun, bright, lively. Silly memories are made here throughout the whole year! When I look into my kitchen I see a rich orange. My kitchen is all wood – the floors, the counters, the shelves, the cupboards – all wood. It always seems sunny and bright even if it’s the darkest and saddest time of the day. When I think about my entranceway (which I call a foyer) I don’t just think about one colour I think about all the colours. From aqua blue to khaki brown, from cherry red to golden yellow. My foyer is the difference between the outside world and my vivid home. It’s where you see your loved ones come and go, where you see your friends come in for a party and leave after a long and exciting night. Hopefully your current or future home is a little bit like mine, sparkling with joy, happiness and family.
