A Home Not a House

I want a home not a house. A place to grow and feel welcomed, Memories of laughter and joy Where emotions of happiness were said, My backyard where the most funnest times would happen Where trees would always sway in the wind And where you can still hear laughter from years ago. The kitchen where me and my parents would always laugh, Where the smell of my grans shortbread always lingers. A home is a place where hearts can truly be happy, where we can find our truest selves. And where we can always feel welcomed. So no matter how tall the walls are, Or how elegant a house is. I would always choose a home over a house.
