Home Through The Seasons

In the Winter, home is steaming hot chocolate, after a long day on the slopes Blades scraping the frost-bitten ice, up and down the rink until dusk Big bowls of mom's spicy chili by the blazing hot fire A feast on Christmas morning with foods from sweet, to salty, to savory In the Spring, home is a beautiful cherry tree, just outside my kitchen window Daisies, roses and tulips blooming in my garden at lightning speed Discovering all the treasures hibernating in the garage over the winter Biking the trails of my town from start to finish over and over again In the Summer, home is a Michelin star chef grilling burgers to perfection Salty water of crystal-clear oceans grasping my toes On the road travelling from St. Johns Newfoundland to the most northern parts of Canada Tennis courts from all across the country just below my feet In the Fall, home is Halloween night feasting on candy like pigeons in Central Park Swimming in piles of colourful leaves with lots to discover Birthday candles burning all season long The aroma of pumpkin spice cookies swirling through the air Home is a feeling, evolving throughout the seasons
