Home

For me home is a place where I go. Home is not just a house; home is built with more than just walls. Home is built with love and protection. For when someone needs help, home is there. A living room is a place where one can unwind. Where they can relax and spend quality time. In the kitchen where delicious smells linger through the air, baked things are always there. All the way to the office where one can get work done. Always in the quiet. Over to where we sleep every night. Were we dream sweet dreams that last for a life. Down to where we eat each night. It’s the dining room where delicious meals get placed on our plates. Where food evaporates from our plates. Home is not just a place to go. Home is a place to stay. Downstairs, the basement awaits, where you and your family play games. To the closet were things go to hide. Where one can be searching but never finds. Over to the mud room where all our bags go, where the entry way waits for our shoes and coats. The entry way is where we welcome people in, where greeting each other is the proper thing. Home is a place where I feel like I belong. I feel comfortable there with the people I love. The dreams that I dream each night are all about the things in life. When I am happy, sad or even hurt, my home is always there. Throughout those moments, home is where I want to be. For me home is the best gift of all. When my mom does the laundry, it smells so clean that I want to put it on. So, for me home is a place where I belong.
