The Meaning of Home
You know the place that is home.
It is where you want to be.
You can fly to south islands,
To always come back from your voyage at sea.
To look out a small window,
And see what you want to see.
A bubble of light, of comfort,
The place where you want to go.
A place to be safe, to shed worries.
A shelter from the wind that will blow.
As you struggle through darkness and power,
You can huddle in a hole in your woe.
A place that will let you in,
No matter how much you fail.
To rise above the clouds,
To hold on if you want to bail.
The place you will always come back too,
No matter how far you sail.
If you fall into dark caves of fire,
You can call back to home, find your light.
If your home lives deep, still inside you,
You can stand strong, and go win your fight.
If you stumble through darkness, blinded,
Home will help bring back your sight.
Home is a place full of safety,
That will hold out its welcoming door.
For that is your true place, your shelter,
Where your heart is, deep in the core.
If you stand strong and keep going,
You will find your wings and will soar.
