The Meaning of Home

The meaning of home, it’s kind of hard to think about, if you ask me. There are so many things I could say, like my bed, an old stuffed animal, a pencil, etc. How could I ever possibly choose? At first I definitely had no idea what to do but I know for sure now that I picked the right thing! What’s that? you may ask? Well I'll tell ya’! I chose an old stuffed animal named onyx (he was a black Lab that’s why we named him that). You might be thinking “really? A stuffed animal? How original”, I thought so too at first, I was thinking to myself “this is WAY too boring! So many people before have probably written or said the SAME THING” but it isn't about how “original” it is it's about what the item means to YOU. I picked this item because it reminds me of my dog that I had in first grade. We had to give him back to the shelter because we just couldn't handle taking care of him. One of my favorite memories that I had with him was when I took him outside for a walk with my dad and pooped a heart, I thought it waa so funny. Yes we only had him for four and a half days BUT he still meant the world to me. Afterwards my dad bought me a stuffed animal that looks exactly like him. And I have since kept it with me. Every time I look at it I remember how nice my dad was for getting it for me! And how grateful I am that he did. That’s why it reminds me of home!
