Home Can Be Anywhere

As I walk through the gravel leading up to my house, I think about how this building is called a house but to me it is home. I open the front door and a whole new realm of sensations flood over me, sisters fighting, parents talking and the all too familiar smell of something burning in the kitchen. To me, home would not be the same without those sounds smells and other things most people would not notice. One hour later I am curled up on the couch with a hot chocolate and a book witch I soon abandoned when the snow began to fall, covering the ground with a thick white blanket. Delicious smells drift from the kitchen where my mom is preparing dinner. Most people think of home as a place with four walls and a roof, but home can be anywhere. Maybe it is at school, maybe in the forest, or maybe curled up in a quiet corner of the library. Home could be a place where you can cozy up with your family and listen to thunder, the low rumbling giving an almost comforting feeling. It should be a place where you feel safe. Home is a choice. It does not need to be your house, Home can be anywhere.
