Home is a Feeling
Home is a Feeling
“A house is built with walls and beams, a home is built with love and dreams,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson. I totally agree with this quote. To me, a home is a place where you never feel alone. When I’m at school and I’m having a rough day, I just want to go home to my family and to my dog. A home is a place to go to when you need to get away from everything.
I never feel alone when I’m at home. Home is where my dad does the dishes really loud, my sister and I fight over pointless things, and my mom does stretches at the most random times. This might sound strange but it is what makes my home, my home. It reminds me of the quote by Tad Carpenter, “What I love most about my home is who I share it with.”
When I come home my dog wags not just her tail, but her whole body! She also often brings me a shoe as a present. This makes me happy, even if it does hurt when she hits you with her tail! This is home. It doesn’t matter what your house looks like, whether it is a tiny apartment or a huge mansion, whether it is neat or messy, dirty or clean, it's how you feel inside your home. Home is a place where you can just BE YOU. Everybody deserves a home. I know I am grateful for mine!
