What Home Means to me
Homes all over the world come in many different shapes and sizes. From castles in Scotland to clay huts in Africa. Let me tell you about my home, an apartment in Hamilton, that is just 5 minutes away from school. It has a great big pool in the summer for me to enjoy. In the winter is when all the kids go sledding down the hill behind my apartment. We make snowmen and snow angels and wait for our parents to bring us hot chocolate with marshmallows and sprinkles. My home also has balcony with the best view. On nights like Canada Day, we get a front row seat to a spectacular fireworks show. I love my home!
My favourite time is when we celebrate different days throughout the year from Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas to name a few. I get to help my mom prepare special meals to enjoy with friends in our dining room. I always get the special task to decorate the table for each celebration.
My room is my favourite part of our home because I got to decorate it. I was able to pick out my own bedding and continue to add more decorations whenever we go shopping. I also share my bedroom with my cat. Her name is Milky. She is black with a spot of white under her chin. We have a nice big comfy couch that we can turn into a bed that Milky, and I love to watch movies on.
All our friends are always welcome at our home – from a quick hello to sleepovers. We might not have the biggest house, but it is the happiest home filled with love, laughs, and happiness. These are the reasons why this is a place that I am proud to call home.
