Home: A place that follows me everywhere

Home. Only a four-letter word but filled with so much meaning. Home is where l grew up surrounded by all my loved ones. Home always had its ways to follow me wherever l went. I had to leave my childhood house and start fresh in a different country and move houses three times. Despite all this, my home has always provided me with a warm place to feel wanted and safe. Home is not only something that provides a roof over my head, it is a place where l am allowed to be whoever l am, and simply express myself. Home is where l share my peace, laughter and the most miserable times of my life. Home is a small community for my parents and l. It is where we grew our respect and love for each other. I was forced to create a new home from the one l had to leave behind, back in my Motherland. Creating this new home meant going through struggles, both emotionally and financially. Even though my home is not the dream home most people would want, to me it is a place that keeps my family and myself happy. Home is my camera that has every memory carefully stored. Home has never judged me or made fun of me. Home showed me that l am my own person. Home has always reminded me to be myself and to achieve my dreams no matter what stands in my way. Home is often overlooked and taken for granted but, no matter how we treat our home, it always takes care of us in every way possible. Home. This simple four-letter word will always be a reliable and safe place. A place that I will always love with all my heart.
