The Meaning of Home

You have a home, which is a really important thing. If you have a home, you can rest, eat and relax. Homes cost a lot of money, so you are lucky to have one. Homes can come in any shape or form. They can feel different, as well as look different. Every home is unique. There is a big difference between a house and a home. A house can be any building, from an apartment to a mansion, but a home is a place where you feel cozy. Homes are good places to spend family time. When people have homes, they have joy. Homes are great. You walk in the door, smell dinner cooking, and feel the warmth of the fire. You see your family in the living room, watching television and relaxing. You know that you are at home. You sit down on the couch. Spending family time is the best! You want to have as much as you possibly can. When your dad calls you down to supper, you run down the stairs, but you go too fast and fall down the stairs. When you get downstairs, you see that your cousins and grandparents are there. You eat dinner and go downstairs to the basement. You see your cousins waiting for you so they can start the Nerf gun fight. After you finish your Nerf gun fight, your mom says you need to go to bed, so you and your cousins go up to your room to go to sleep. In the morning you go down stairs to say goodbye to your cousins. You know that next time you will see them it will be your birthday. There is no place you would be but home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving people homes.
