The Meaning of Home

Home the Story Once there was a cat named Emerald, she would hear other cats talking about their houses and homes. Emerald was a forest cat so she didn't know what a home or house meant. The next day she woke up in her den and went to her mom to ask what home meant. Her mom replied with, “home means where family is, a house is somewhere that is lonely”. Emerald smiled but she felt like that wasn't enough information, so she went to her best friends Violet and Ella. They said, “home is where you laugh and have fun”, but a house is somewhere that is boring and sad. The next day she went to her brother, liam. Liam said, “a home is somewhere that is never quiet, but a house is somewhere so quiet that you can hear a mouse squeaking, that is what house means”. “You sure?”, emerald mewed. “Yep!”, Liam yelled. The next day she asked herself what home and house meant for her; she thought and thought and thought and then she came up with an answer. “I know what it means” Emerald yelled with excitement, home means “somewhere you can be you, but house means somewhere you feel like you don't belong”. And that is the end of home the story.
