Why is a house called a home?

Why is a house called a home? I woke up one day and thought to myself, why is a house called a home? I went to the kitchen and I saw my mom, the news was playing. I heard a story about a house that burnt down. My mom said you should be grateful for your home, then I thought again, why is a house called a home? I went to school, I overheard someone talking about how they were having guests coming to their home and then I thought again why is a house called a home? In class my teacher said what is your favorite thing about your home, then I thought some more, why is a house called a home? Then I asked my mom why a house is called a home, my mom said a house is a room with four walls, a home is filled with laughter and love. A house is just a room, with a sink and a stove, a home is filled with friends, family and pets. A house just has floor tiles but a home has games and joy in the air. A house has a kitchen and a dining room but a home has arguments, fights and everything above. That's when I thought I am so grateful for my home. I want to say thank you habitat for humanity for giving people homes. A lot of people are suffering in life but you guys make life so much easier.
