What Home Means to Me

To me home is somewhere you feel safe, or somewhere you have peace and quiet. It could mean family or that you’re being loved. Even if you’re feeling down, like pessimistic or mad, grumpy, or even just annoyed, your family is always there to help you feel happy and excited again. To me, you don’t need an iPad, a TV, or a phone, you don’t need extras. For example what I wrote earlier. What you do need is food, water, medicine, a bed to go to sleep in, or even a roof over my head, and a toilet to use. But the most important thing is that your family is always there for you. Home is somewhere you always feel like a winner, whether you lost a tournament, a contest or even a game, your family is always there to make you feel like a winner again. When I’m at home I always smell something cooking in the kitchen. It could be tacos, or pancakes or a B.L.T. It could even be cupcakes. There is always something cooking in the kitchen. It could be anything, it could be part of your culture or part of someone else’s culture. I am grateful for my health, food and water, a bed, medicine, a toilet and a roof over my head. But what I am most grateful for is my family and friends and knowing that I’m being loved all the time. This is what the meaning of home is truly about! Sometimes you could be upset with a family member, but you have to remember that this is your family and they are always there for you. But what home really means to me is just being with your family and loving one another.
