Everyone Deserves a Home

In my perspective, I’ve always thought home was a place you were born into. As a baby or young infant, I thought Asheville, North Carolina was my home, because I was born there. When I was six months old, that’s when we moved to Canada. My mom, dad, brother and I lived in Alberta for nine years. My home always gave a positive feeling with the people I love, the fun and joy, the food my mom cooked in the kitchen, the way me and my friends laughter spread around the house as my brother and dad played outside. Every day was almost the same, but I always looked at it in a positive way - The comfy bed I slept in, the memories I made. It was hard to say goodbye to it, when we moved to Courtenay on Vancouver Island; I love it here and I really love my home now. It’s almost the same but filled with even more loving and encouraging people. For me, a home should be a place of warmth, smiles and positivity. Homes can, and will, change; no homes are perfect, not even mine, but everyone deserves a home. THANK YOU HABITAT FOR HUMANITY!
