House? Home? What’s the Difference?
To me a home and a house are two different things. A house is a building that you live in. A home, however, can be anywhere that makes you feel comfortable. To put it in simpler words, a home is like a place where you belong. To me for example, my home is Canada because I belong here and on top of that I was born here! And I’m Canadian because I love maple syrup!(That’s not how it actually works).
Like I said before, to me a home is a place where you belong. It’s a place where you can fit in, where you can be who you are or who you want to be. Home can be at school, at your favourite park, or even in the mountains! As long as you feel safe, comfortable, and/or relaxed, that can be your home. One of the amazing things about home is that home can be almost anywhere. Your home can also vary depending on who you are with. If I chose to spend the day at my house alone watching grass grow, I wouldn’t really consider it home. If I spent a day with my friends at an arcade, spending time in the arcade would make me think of the time I was hanging out with my friends. So I would say the arcade would be more like home. Your home can be very unique and different compared to mine!
At the end of the day, a home is a safe zone. When you’re at home you will feel secure even if your whole world is crumbling around you. It’s your safe “hide out” if you feel like you’re stressed out or if you feel miserable. Remember, home and house are two different things.
