What Home Means to Me

A house and a home may seem similar, but they are very different. A house is just a building, while a home is a warm and loving place filled with traditions and culture. My home is always filled with joy and hope with laughter mixed in both.. One of my favorite things to do is annoy my older brother because he always annoys me first, it’s my way of getting revenge! My home is where I can truly be myself. If you ask me what matters most in my home, I would say my loving family. They are the most valuable part of my life. At home, I can express myself freely, whether it’s singing a song at night or playing games with my family. This may not happen if we’re too tired or fast asleep, but when it does, it makes me feel truly happy. A house may have rooms and stairs, but a home is filled with love, something money can’t buy. My favorite place at home is the kitchen because I can always smell my parents cooking traditional food. Sometimes my parents' Indian food is sweet like a piece of cake and sometimes as spicy as Indian chili. Even when I’m sitting on the couch watching TV, I can still smell the delicious aromas from the kitchen. Home is where I can peacefully spend time with my family and friends. My family is always there for me, whether I’m happy, frustrated, or sad. Lastly, I am grateful for those who work hard to build homes for people in need. Their kindness and effort help create a better, more loving, and peaceful community.
