My Story of How I Got my Home.

I migrated to Canada from India with my parents in 2018 when I was 3 years old. We lived in an AirBnb in Oakville for around 6 months. We then moved to East York and lived there from 2019 - 2023, making some of the best memories with my family in this amazing city of Toronto. Experiencing snowfall, seasons of spring and fall for the first time, living through Covid, my first memory of making friends with who I learnt to play soccer and basketball, seeing Ripley’s aquarium, the brilliant architecture of CN Tower, visits to Ontario science center, Bluffers park beach (the cleanest blue flag beach). I had friends that were from South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. We had fun, and celebrated festivals together. In Winter 2022, my mom and dad made a big decision to leave Toronto and buy a house in Burlington, Ontario. This was a big step for our family, moving from a place where we created a lot of memories to Burlington. I was sad to leave behind my fond memories but excited to experience Burlington and make new friends. Today it’s been exactly 2 years since we moved into our new Home. In this time, we made a lot of memories such as having my first Holy Communion, getting both sets of grandparents to join in the celebrations and stay with us, and a trip to India as a family! I am thankful to this wonderful city for the love we get, nice people, the scenery, my friends, my teachers, our amazing churches, how we learn to respect different cultures and live happily. My Home is where the heart is and my heart beats for Burlington. This city means everything to me and I call it my Home I wouldn’t change it, not even for the eternal city of Rome This is where I want to live, learn, build bonds and grow I don't write poetry, this is my love for Burlington, you know.
